We had a year caravaning before settling into our self sufficient – tree change lifestyle. Weighing up the costs of storage and transporting our household items here amounted to $8000+, it was an easy decision to make. Having SOLD everything before we left and armed with $4000, we set about buying it all back.
We were amazed how quickly and more cheaply, we were able to fill a four bedroom home. We bought everything secondhand from crockery, to appliances, gumboots, pet cages, bikes, furniture and winter clothes, all from Garage Sales, Gumtree, Facebook Buy n Sell sites and Auctions, (with the exception our queen bed mattress was purchased new).
We were so thankful so many people were RESELLING their unwanted goods which were perfect for us to start our new life. RESELLING items that are still in good condition is an effective way to minimize consumption waste and line your pockets with a bit of cash..
