On Saturday, November 10, 2018, we were invited to speak at the annual Beekeeper’s Field Day in Elliot. After listening to some wonderful presenters talking about the importance, challenges and future of beekeeping in Tasmania, I proudly presented one of My Homesteading Secrets that help reduce plastic and save you a lot of money at the same time: Bee’s wax wraps. Interested beekeepers and non-beekeepers were able to buy the ingredients for their own bee’s wax wraps at our stall afterwards and I was happy to see lots of familiar faces and others interested in a more sustainable and self-sufficient way of life. Our home-made apple cider vinegar, Holecivi drinks (made of honey, lemon, and apple cider vinegar), natural soaps & shampoos were very popular as well and we are happy so be seeing many new faces again soon in one of the upcoming workshops!
After an informative morning we were all invited to attend an Open Hive workshop where we could experience some of of the secrets of bee keeping first hand.
