Starting any new regime can be exciting and sometimes challenging as you select the stores, cafes and services which are happy to have you bring your own container to REFILL.
Many of the health/wholefood stores happily REFILL containers with grains, cereals, honey, peanut butter, vinegars, detergents, dried fruits, oils, hair care products, and laundry detergents etc.
Most good Butchers and Deli’s will allow you to bring own CLEAN containers.
In supermarkets we are bombarded with the plastic packaging at every turn. Bring net bags and select your own fruit & veg (or sneak a paper mushroom bag if you forget). Some of the deli departments will allow your own containers, if they don’t, keep asking, until they do!
Remember to pop a reusable container in your bag for your leftovers in restaurants. The doggy must not miss out.
Milk is available in refillable bottles from some of the boutique suppliers, though these are sadly not available in all regions, it would be nice to see more plastic free options from the dairy industry.
Keep cups are now welcomed at most cafes, but do the courtesy of ensuring they are clean when handed over. Many cafes and Coffee vendors now offer Mug libraries for those who forget their Keep Cups. This is something to remember if you are ever downsizing your mug collection. And I am sure everyone is already refilling their water bottles. I have also noticed more council’s installing refill stations in popular public areas and at festivals.
